Hello Blog!

Motif Number 1, located on Bradley Wharf in Rockport, Massachusetts, is well known as the “most often-painted building in America”. So as two photographers taking a weekend getaway to Rockport we naturally were drawn to capture it for ourselves. Could we find a new inspiring angle that no one had yet seen before? A special time of day that no one had yet visited?

Probably not we realized. But just because something has been done before, doesn’t make it less beautiful, so loving New England in all it’s salty charm, we photographed it anyway. Not to be different or new or creative, but for our own story and our own memories.

A quote from the Bible tells us how the early Christians were delighted to share not only the "Good News of God but their lives as well.” So here we are. Our Motif Number 1, and our lives as well. And while many others have more brilliant ideas to share and many others already penned more charming prose, we’re here to write anyway. To share our own stories and solidify our own memories.

And if somewhere down the line this encourages and inspires others we’ll be thrilled. But for all the rest we’re just glad you’re here to share our joys and journeys.

The photograph above is our favorite photograph we captured of Motif Number 1. However, our favorite photograph from our trip to Rockport is actually the view from Motif Number 1. So as you settle in to take a glimpse at our life, we hope you’ll begin to admire the view of what God is doing in your life as well.

Thank you for following us through our adoption story, our marriage, our fixer-upper style projects and our thoughts on what it means to live full, rescued life.
